President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked the Senate to confirm six nominees for appointment as executive directors of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
The nominations, conveyed to the Senate in a letter, comprise three serving executive directors proposed for reappointment and three new nominees.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, each nominee is expected to serve a five-year term upon confirmation.
Tinubu urged the Senate to consider the nominations expeditiously, noting that the appointments would ensure institutional continuity and strengthen the regulatory authority’s oversight capacity.
The three nominees seeking reappointment are Abiodun Adeniji, Executive Director of Finance and Accounts; Ogbugo Kalu Ukoha, Executive Director of Distribution Systems, Storage and Retailing Infrastructure; and Mustapha Lamorde, Executive Director of Health, Safety, Environment and Community.
The new nominees include Mobolaji Tajudeen Musa, proposed as Executive Director of Hydrocarbon Processing Plants, Installations and Transportation Infrastructure.
Others are Ogechukwu Modie, nominated as Executive Director of Economic Regulations and Strategic Planning, and Said Abutalib, proposed as Executive Director of Corporate Services and Administration.
The nominations are subject to Senate screening and confirmation before the nominees can formally assume their respective positions.
