All sensitive and non-sensitive materials required for Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State have arrived at the Registration Area Centre (RAC) ahead of deployment to polling units.

The Nation observed this during a visit to RAC Centre, Atile RA 09, located within Ansar-Ul-Deen Grammar School, Atile, Ikire, in Irewole Local Government Area of the state.

At the centre, INEC officials and ad hoc personnel were seen cross-checking the list of staff assigned to the area.

The election materials, including the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines and ballot papers, were said to have arrived at the centre since Friday morning and are being kept in readiness for deployment to various polling units on Saturday.

An INEC official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the early movement of materials and personnel to the RAC was aimed at preventing delays in their arrival at polling units.

The official assured that the materials and personnel would be deployed in the early hours of Saturday to ensure a smooth commencement of voting.

Security personnel were also observed at the centre, while vehicles designated to transport election officials and materials were parked within the school premises.

The preparations come as INEC and security agencies intensify efforts to ensure a peaceful and orderly conduct of the Osun governorship election.
