Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has mocked Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile over the reception of his latest album and wedding, amid speculation about a possible rift between the two.
VDM made the remarks in a post on his social media page, questioning the attention generated by both events and suggesting that the rapper’s album had not received the expected level of success.
He wrote, “Person wey do a whole wedding because he won promote him album, album no blow, wedding no blow.”
The activist also criticised the online publicity surrounding Zlatan’s wedding, claiming that social media posts about the event failed to attract significant engagement.
VDM further expressed his expectations for the rapper’s latest song, saying he would be disappointed if it failed to maintain the number-one position on Apple Music for a month.
“All the blogs that posted the wedding, no one entered 5k comments. All the PR, Vincent everywhere. If that song no stay No. 1 for one month, e go pain me,” he added.
The comments come amid speculation about a possible disagreement between the two personalities following a lyric in a song by Zlatan featuring singers Peruzzi and Shoday.
In the track, Zlatan raps, “I no be Vincent, I no fit masturbate,” a line that has prompted some listeners to speculate that he was referring to VDM, whose first name is Vincent.
However, neither the lyric nor VDM’s remarks independently establish the existence of a rift between the two.
