The United States government has claimed that it has gone 15 consecutive months without releasing any illegal migrants into the country and has deported more than three million foreigners since President Donald Trump returned to office.
The claims were contained in a fact sheet published on the White House website on Wednesday, outlining measures the Trump administration said it had taken to overhaul the country’s immigration system and strengthen border security.
The White House said Trump had fulfilled his campaign promise to prioritise American citizens and tighten immigration enforcement.
According to the administration, Trump signed an executive order within his first week in office declaring a crisis at the southern border and directing immediate measures to end what it described as the Biden administration’s unprecedented level of illegal immigration.
“For 15 straight months, no illegal aliens have been released into the country,” the administration said.
It added that more than three million illegal immigrants had been deported, including thousands of individuals convicted of violent crimes.
The administration also announced what it described as a “denaturalisation surge” targeting individuals accused of fraudulently obtaining US citizenship. It said legal claims had been filed against 88 people who allegedly received citizenship despite being ineligible.
In addition, the government said it had terminated taxpayer-funded benefits for more than 1.4 million undocumented migrants who it alleged were improperly receiving public assistance, while also restricting their access to more than a dozen taxpayer-funded healthcare programmes.
On visa policy, the White House said the administration had strengthened screening procedures and temporarily paused visa processing for citizens of 75 countries it classified as high-risk, citing concerns over national security and visa overstays.
The administration further said it had taken steps to remove tens of thousands of undocumented migrants from voter rolls across several states, arguing that participation in US elections should be restricted to American citizens.
It also said changes had been made to the US citizenship test to place greater emphasis on applicants’ knowledge of American history, government and national values, as well as their eligibility for citizenship.
The White House also cited two executive orders signed on August 6, 2026, which it said were aimed at ending birth tourism and clarifying which categories of children would not qualify for birthright citizenship following the Supreme Court’s ruling in Trump v. Barbara.
