Sowore’s Attack: Isaac Fayose Urges Opposition to Unite Ahead of 2027 Elections

Social media critic and businessman Isaac Fayose has condemned the attack on the African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, in Ado-Ekiti, urging opposition politicians to unite ahead of the 2027 general election.

Fayose made the appeal in a video shared on his verified Facebook page on Friday, where he described the incident as a warning to opposition figures across the country.

He argued that Sowore could not challenge the government alone and needed to work with other opposition leaders, including former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.

According to Fayose, the attack in Ado-Ekiti demonstrated the need for opposition politicians to put aside their differences and form a united front to challenge the ruling government.

“Sowore, you can’t fight alone. You need to unite with Peter Obi and other opposition figures. What happened to you in Ekiti can happen to anyone. This government does not want opposition,” he said.

Fayose also called on security agencies to identify, arrest and prosecute those responsible for the attack.

Meanwhile, Sowore had accused the Ekiti State Police Command and the Department of State Services (DSS) of seizing CCTV footage that allegedly captured his attackers.

The AAC candidate raised concerns over the handling of the incident, alleging that the seizure of the footage could be an attempt to cover up the attack and protect those responsible.
