Bala Mohammed Charges 2,187 Forest Guards on Human Rights, Professionalism at Passing-Out Parade

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has urged newly inducted Forest Guards personnel to uphold professionalism, discipline, and respect for human rights as they begin their security responsibilities across the state.

The governor gave the charge during the passing-out parade of 2,187 Forest Guards graduates held at the Police Training School, Yelwa, in Bauchi Local Government Area.

Represented by his deputy, Rt. Hon. Auwal Jatau, Governor Mohammed welcomed representatives of various security agencies present at the ceremony and emphasized the importance of the Forest Guard programme in strengthening security and promoting peace in the state.

He described the initiative as a symbol of integrity, discipline, and commitment to peace-building, urging the graduates to serve as worthy ambassadors of the corps in all their engagements.

The governor further advised the personnel to strictly adhere to the rules of engagement while carrying out their duties to ensure the objectives behind the establishment of the Forest Guard Corps are achieved.

He stressed that the state government would not tolerate any form of unlawful conduct and encouraged the graduates to contribute to environmental sustainability and enhanced security across Bauchi State.

Speaking at the event, the Commander-General of the Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency, Umar Shayi, commended Governor Mohammed for his commitment to strengthening local security structures and improving safety across the state.

Shayi urged the newly graduated personnel to remain dedicated, disciplined, and committed to their responsibilities as they join efforts to safeguard communities and protect the state’s forests.

The passing-out parade marked the successful completion of the recruits’ training and their formal induction into the Forest Guard Corps.
