Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has vowed to teach Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, a political lesson, accusing him of undermining party structures and contributing to the crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West.
Fayose made the remarks during an interview on Channels Television, where he expressed dissatisfaction with Makinde’s leadership style and political decisions.
According to the former governor, Makinde allegedly dismantled established PDP structures in the South-West and sidelined key stakeholders within the party.
“We will teach Makinde a political lesson. If you respect me, you will get all my values and support, but if you disrespect me, you will get the downside of Fayose. I’m not a politician that is taken for granted,” he said.
Fayose further accused the Oyo governor of taking over his political structure and weakening the PDP in the region.
“Makinde destroyed the South-West PDP and took my structure. When we are in politics, we are meant to be fair,” he stated.
The former governor also claimed that Makinde’s reported presidential ambition contributed to his current political challenges.
“Declaring for presidency was his undoing. He has the right to contest for president, but we don’t betray trust. Elections are not far away again. We will get there,” Fayose added.
The comments are the latest indication of growing tensions between the two influential PDP figures as political realignments ahead of future elections continue to unfold within the party.
