African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has declared that the 2027 presidential election will be his final attempt to become Nigeria’s president.
Atiku, a former vice president, made the declaration during a Facebook Live session, confirming his intention to contest the presidency again after decades of pursuing the nation’s highest political office.
The former vice president, who served between 1999 and 2007, has contested the presidency several times under different political parties.
Speaking on his plans for 2027, Atiku said: “Whether I win or lose, 2027 will be my last time contesting for the presidency.”
He also renewed his allegations concerning President Bola Tinubu’s academic credentials, insisting that questions surrounding the President’s certificates remain a serious issue.
Atiku said he was the person who initially raised concerns about Tinubu’s academic certificates and maintained his position that there was forgery.
“I was the one who raised the issue surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s academic certificates, and I stand by my position that there was forgery,” he said.
According to him, it is unacceptable for Nigeria’s president to have unresolved questions surrounding his academic qualifications.
“It is unacceptable for the President of Nigeria to have such questions surrounding his academic credentials,” Atiku added.
