President Bola Tinubu has declared that he will not be intimidated by opposition parties, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC), insisting that no political coalition or criticism will derail his administration’s agenda.
Speaking on Thursday while receiving members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Tinubu urged opposition groups to respect democratic principles and obey court rulings, stressing that the rule of law remains central to national stability.
According to him, Nigeria’s progress depends on unity, discipline, and respect for institutions, especially the judiciary, regardless of political interests.
“We cannot submit to disobedience of a lawful order of the court. We must embrace the judiciary, whether it favours us or not,” he said.
The President also described the Renewed Hope Ambassadors as key drivers in communicating government policies and reforms across the country, charging them to sustain efforts at restoring public confidence.
“You must give them that hope… to build a Nigeria,” he told the group.
Addressing concerns about opposition alliances, Tinubu dismissed attempts to destabilise his administration, saying he remained unfazed by political pressure.
“They want to scare me off, it is a lie. I’ve been through this path before… I’ll do the same thing over and over,” he said.
He further emphasised that national development must take precedence over political rivalry, adding that Nigeria’s transformation requires long-term commitment and collective effort.
On the economy, the President defended his reform policies, noting that difficult decisions were necessary to correct long-standing structural challenges.
He said his administration inherited a struggling system but insisted that ongoing reforms were beginning to yield results.
The President also reiterated his commitment to national unity, urging citizens and political actors to focus on building “one Nigeria” anchored on shared progress and prosperity.
Earlier, Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, said the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative was created to translate government policies into clearer messages at the grassroots level.
Also speaking, former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, noted that reform-minded leadership often attracts resistance but maintained that the administration had continued to make progress despite challenges.
