Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has shared her thoughts on Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedures during an interview on The Morayo Show with Morayo Afolabi-Brown.
Speaking candidly, Akindele said, “I must say, I love to see beautiful women with beautiful bodies. I actually like it. I am not talking about the excess ones but the normal ones. I want to do it but I don’t have the mind.”
While expressing admiration for the aesthetic appeal of BBL, the actress also urged caution for anyone considering the surgery. “I am not against it. If you want to enhance your beauty, go ahead, but be careful,” she advised.
Her remarks come amid rising attention on BBL procedures, which have become increasingly popular in the entertainment and influencer communities. The cosmetic surgery trend, however, has faced scrutiny due to safety concerns and reports of serious complications.
The discussion follows the tragic death of Nigerian influencer Elena Jessica Nkwopara, known as Elena, who passed away after complications from a second BBL procedure in Lagos. Reports indicate that after facing issues with her first surgery, Nkwopara underwent a corrective procedure, which led to fatal complications either during or shortly after the treatment.
As BBLs continue to dominate conversations about beauty standards, Akindele’s message underscores the importance of balancing aesthetic goals with health and safety considerations.
