The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has set August 9, 2025, as the date for fresh Local Government Council elections across the state.
RSIEC Chairman, retired Justice Adolphus Enebeli, made the announcement during a stakeholders’ meeting at the commission’s headquarters on Aba Road, Port Harcourt, where the official timetable and guidelines for the elections were unveiled.
Justice Enebeli reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to conducting a free, fair, and credible electoral process. He also urged political parties to strictly adhere to the established rules and guidelines.
