The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Zamfara State has reaffirmed Ibrahim Salisu Mafara as its governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
The state Chairman of the party, Kabiru Garba Gusau, made this known on Thursday during a press briefing at the ADC secretariat in Gusau.
Gusau addressed recent issues surrounding the party’s structure and the governorship candidacy, stressing that the state chapter was operating in line with its constitution and the rule of law.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I want to make our position absolutely clear. Hon. Ibrahim Salisu Mafara is the ADC gubernatorial candidate for Zamfara State,” Gusau said.
He maintained that the party would continue to pursue its affairs through lawful and constitutional means, adding that it was prepared to defend the mandate of its candidates through all available legal avenues.
Gusau also dismissed concerns over divisions within the party, insisting that the ADC remained united and committed to its political objectives ahead of the 2027 elections.
“ADC Zamfara is not dead, ADC Zamfara is not divided beyond reconciliation, and ADC Zamfara is not abandoning its political mission,” he said.
