Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has already secured significant political support in Osun State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ahmad stated this in a post on his verified X handle on Thursday, following a visit by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to President Tinubu.

Adeleke, alongside members of the Osun State chapter of the Accord Party, visited the President and presented him with his Certificate of Return.

Reacting to the development, Ahmad said Tinubu had Osun firmly within his political orbit, citing the support from both the ruling Accord Party and the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).

“President Bola Tinubu has Osun on both sides, with the ruling party (Accord) and the main opposition (APC) both firmly within his political orbit,” Ahmad said.

“For President Tinubu, Osun is already in the bag. The political dynamics in the state have already pointed in one direction, the Renewed Hope and victory in 2027.”

Adeleke emerged victorious in the August 15, 2026 election with 511,067 votes, defeating the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who secured 444,815 votes.

Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) finished third with 17,180 votes.
