The 2027 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has criticised those opposing his proposed N500,000 minimum wage for Nigerian workers, describing the opposition as “wickedness” that has become an economic policy.
Sowore made the remarks in a post on X while defending his proposed wage for workers.
The AAC presidential candidate questioned why some Nigerians earning as much as N30 million monthly would oppose a N500,000 minimum wage for workers.
He also criticised low-income Nigerians who support the argument that increasing workers’ wages to N500,000 would fuel inflation.
“₦30 million for them is acceptable, but ₦500,000 for a Nigerian worker is inflationary?
“Wickedness has become an economic policy!” Sowore wrote.
His comments come amid ongoing debates over workers’ wages, inflation and the rising cost of living in Nigeria.
