Lere Olayinka Questions Atiku’s 2027 Presidential Ambition, Mocks Peter Obi

Lere Olayinka, the Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has questioned whether former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is still pursuing his presidential ambition ahead of the January 16, 2027 election.

Olayinka made the remarks on Tuesday while mocking Atiku, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, whom he referred to as “Wole Wole Kachalla.”

In a post on X, the minister’s aide also took a swipe at the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, questioning why he had not allegedly misled Nigerians in the past two days.

He wrote:

“Abeg, is Kachalla Wole Wole Atiku Abubakar still contesting this January 16, 2027 presidential election? E reach make person ask.

“They closed the gate of the Kaaba for the leader, the child of brass caster. It is called grace.

“For two days, Peter Obi has not lied, what happened?”

Olayinka’s comments come amid exchanges between aides of President Bola Tinubu and Atiku over the President’s recent spiritual pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

During the visit, Tinubu was granted access to the Holy Kaaba in Mecca, where he prayed and performed Umrah.

The development generated mixed reactions among Nigerians, with some claiming that Tinubu was the first Nigerian president to enter the sacred structure.

However, Atiku’s spokesperson, Phrank Shaibu, claimed that the former Vice President had financially sponsored Tinubu’s first trip to Saudi Arabia for Umrah.
