The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed reports that it has withdrawn the list of members appointed to its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, describing the reports as mere rumours.
APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the clarification on Tuesday, saying the party would formally announce any changes to the campaign council if necessary.
Morka’s comments followed reports circulating that the ruling party had withdrawn the list it recently released as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on the matter, Morka said there was no basis for the reports and stressed that any changes would be officially communicated by the party.
“It’s rumour. If there is any change to the list, it will be formally announced,” he said.
The APC recently released the composition of its Presidential Campaign Council as preparations intensify for the 2027 presidential election, in which President Bola Tinubu is expected to seek re-election.
The list has generated reactions within the party, with some members and stakeholders raising concerns over the inclusion and exclusion of certain party figures.
The reactions subsequently triggered speculation that the APC could make adjustments to the campaign structure.
However, Morka’s latest statement suggests that the party has not officially withdrawn the list, while any future amendment would be announced through the appropriate official channels.
