Ronaldo Jets Out of Riyadh as Middle East Tensions Escalate

Cristiano Ronaldo, captain and forward for Al-Nassr, has reportedly departed Saudi Arabia for Madrid, Spain, amid rising security concerns following recent US-Israeli military strikes in Iran.

According to a report by the Daily Mail on Tuesday, the 41-year-old football star left Riyadh late at night aboard his £61 million ($81 million) Bombardier Global Express 6500 private jet.

Flight tracking data from Flightradar24 confirmed that the aircraft departed Riyadh at approximately 8:00 p.m. and landed in Madrid just before 1:00 a.m., following a route over Egypt and the Mediterranean Sea.

The development comes in the wake of escalating regional tensions. The Saudi Ministry of Defence confirmed that two drones struck the United States Embassy in Riyadh overnight, causing a limited fire and minor material damage. No casualties were reported.

Iranian state media also reported that a command and staff building in Bahrain had been destroyed amid the unfolding conflict.

The crisis intensified after US-Israeli military strikes on February 28, 2026, reportedly targeted senior Iranian officials. Iranian state media announced on March 1 that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had been killed in the attacks, declaring 40 days of mourning and a seven-day national holiday.

Riyadh, where Ronaldo resides with his partner Georgina Rodriguez and their five children, has been affected by incidents linked to the regional hostilities.

Neither Ronaldo nor Al-Nassr has issued an official statement regarding the reported departure.
