Southern Governors Converge on Ogun for High-Level Regional Meeting

Governors from across Nigeria’s southern region have begun arriving in Iperu-Remo, Ogun State, for a crucial Southern Governors’ Forum meeting holding today.

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara; Abia State Governor, Alex Otti; and Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebamiji, were among the early arrivals at the private residence of the host, Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun.

Also in attendance at the time of filing this report were Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, and Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo.

Deputy Governors who have arrived for the session include Osun State’s Kola Adewusi, Oyo State’s Bayo Lawal, and Cross River State’s Peter Odey.

The DAILY POST earlier reported that all 17 governors from the southern region are expected to participate in the strategic gathering, with discussions focused on key national issues affecting the zone.

In a statement released by Governor Abiodun, who chairs the Forum, the meeting will also feature a joint engagement with the Southern Traditional Rulers Council at 1:00 p.m.
