Renowned music executive and Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, has revealed why he has chosen not to buy a private jet despite being wealthy enough to afford one.
Speaking in an interview with Habby FX, the veteran producer said he prefers to channel his resources into meaningful investments rather than spend lavishly on luxury items.
According to him, the discipline to prioritize long-term growth over instant gratification has helped sustain his success over the years.
“I have been blessed enough for a long time to be able to afford any type of car or even buy a private jet,” Don Jazzy said. “But I have more important things to take care of because nothing beats investment.”
He urged young Nigerians to focus on acquiring practical skills that can make them self-reliant, especially in an era where technology and artificial intelligence are transforming traditional career paths.
“You don’t have to be an engineer, doctor, or lawyer in this internet and AI age because a lot of jobs will disappear soon,” he advised. “Why not learn something tangible like carpentry or furniture making? We still import chairs and tables from China and Turkey. We could produce those things ourselves if we had skilled people here.”
Don Jazzy added that he is currently learning forex trading as part of his personal development plan, describing it as an “investment in himself.”
“The forex that I am currently learning is also an investment in myself. It’s going to turn into a skill I can use tomorrow. Don’t just be useless. Go and acquire some skill,” he concluded.
