The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has declared that no amount of ethnic politicking can derail President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Reacting to comments by former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Dele Momodu—who advised opposition parties to unite and leverage ethnicity to defeat Tinubu—the Lagos APC spokesman, Seye Oladejo, said such tactics belong to the past.
Oladejo, in a statement on Saturday, praised Momodu for indirectly acknowledging what he called the “obvious truth” — that President Tinubu remains politically unstoppable.
“Let it be known that the days of weaponising ethnicity as a shortcut to power are long gone. The Nigerian electorate has evolved. They now focus on who can deliver results, not who can divide the nation,” Oladejo said.
He added that Nigerians have become more discerning, choosing leaders based on vision, performance, and consistency rather than rhetoric.
The APC spokesman further stated that President Tinubu’s administration is rebuilding Nigeria on pillars of equity, inclusion, and reform — from infrastructure renewal to economic stabilisation and social investment.
Oladejo advised Momodu to “rediscover his own political direction” before attempting to counsel others.
