The Olubadan-designate of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has assured that there will be no delay in filling vacant positions in the Olubadan chieftaincy line.
Ladoja gave this assurance while receiving the Asipa Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, at his Lagos residence.
In a statement released on Monday by his media aide, Adeola Oloko, Ladoja emphasized his commitment to preserving the traditional structure and ensuring a smooth succession process within the Ibadan traditional institution.
“I was not in Ibadan when our revered monarch, the 43rd Olubadan, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, joined his ancestors,” Ladoja said. “Kabiyesi Olakulehin lived an impactful life and gave a good account of himself. There will be no delay in addressing every pending vacancy in the Olubadan chieftaincy line.”
Oba Kola-Daisi, during his visit, extended his condolences to the Olubadan-designate over the demise of the late Olubadan and expressed his loyalty and unwavering support for Ladoja’s ascension.
Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, is widely expected to ascend the throne as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, following the traditional chieftaincy succession system unique to the ancient city.
