Bauchi State Governor and National Leader of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Bala Mohammed, has warned Nigerians against underestimating the party’s presidential candidate, Seyi Makinde, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Mohammed made the remarks on Monday during the inauguration of the APM presidential campaign office in Abuja.
The governor said the party was determined to “reset Nigeria” by presenting Makinde as its candidate for the presidency.
According to him, the APM is confident in Makinde’s leadership capacity, describing him as one of the best human resources Nigeria has produced at both the state and national levels.
“The beauty of having a good party is to have a good leader,” Mohammed said, while commending the leadership of the party.
He urged Nigerians, particularly other presidential candidates, not to dismiss Makinde’s chances in the 2027 election.
“Whoever disregards us is at his own peril. We are here to reset Nigeria, and we are bringing in one of the best human capitals that Nigeria has ever produced at the sub-national and national level. That is Makinde,” he said.
Mohammed described Makinde as a “mobilizer” and an effective manager of resources, while also praising his performance as governor of Oyo State.
“I don’t want Nigerians to underrate him, especially the candidates. They would see the wonders of the world. This is a mobilizer, a manager of resources, an engineer per excellence,” he added.
The Bauchi governor further credited Makinde with transforming Oyo State through what he described as significant urban renewal and effective management of limited resources.
The APM has positioned itself as part of the political movement seeking to offer Nigerians an alternative ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
