Sowore Blasts Tinubu Over Insecurity, Demands ₦500,000 Minimum Wage Amid Nationwide Killings

The 2027 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has strongly criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing him of failing to effectively address Nigeria’s worsening insecurity and economic hardship.

Sowore described President Tinubu as “lazy and clueless,” alleging that his administration has not delivered practical solutions to the rising wave of violence across the country.

His remarks come in the wake of recent killings in Plateau State and abductions in Oyo State. According to Sowore, the President’s security promises, including the deployment of 5,000 artificial intelligence-enabled surveillance cameras, have not translated into meaningful improvement in national security.

He also referenced the government’s announcement of plans to deploy 1,000 forest guards following the Oyo schoolchildren abduction, noting that kidnappings and violent attacks have continued despite the interventions.

Sowore stated: “Your lazy and clueless president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has no effective solution to Nigeria’s worsening insecurity.”

Beyond security concerns, the activist-politician renewed his call for a ₦500,000 monthly minimum wage for Nigerian workers, arguing that current earnings are insufficient to sustain a decent standard of living amid rising inflation and economic pressure.

He added that Nigeria needs leadership driven by conscience and accountability, stressing that citizens must remain conscious of their rights and resist the normalization of poverty and inequality.

“The suffering is obvious, the injustice is clear, but too many have chosen complacency over courage,” he said, insisting that national progress depends on collective awareness and resistance to economic hardship.
