An aspirant for the House of Representatives under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Ugochukwu Okoji, has expressed confidence in the ability of the party’s presidential hopeful, Peter Obi, to tackle Nigeria’s worsening security crisis.

Okoji, who is seeking to represent the Isiukwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State, made the declaration on Friday, describing the NDC as a party equipped with practical solutions to the nation’s numerous challenges, particularly insecurity.

The university lecturer stated that Obi possesses a deep understanding of Nigeria’s complex socio-political and economic realities and has the competence to restore security within the first few months of assuming office.

According to him, “NDC is the solution to Nigeria’s multiple problems. Peter Obi understands the complexity of this country and possesses the experience and political exposure needed to address the insecurity ravaging the nation.”

Speaking on his ambition to represent his constituency at the National Assembly, Okoji said his decision was driven by what he described as years of poor representation and neglect suffered by the people of Isiukwuato/Umunneochi.

He pledged to champion people-oriented legislation that would improve the welfare of citizens, expand access to quality healthcare, and attract meaningful infrastructural development to the constituency.

Okoji also emphasized the need to revamp Nigeria’s education sector, promising to push for reforms and improved infrastructure in government-owned schools across the country.

“My desire to go to the National Assembly is to uplift the living conditions of my people. They have suffered enough from underrepresentation,” he said.

“I possess the mental, intellectual, creative, and legislative capacity to transform the fortunes of our federal constituency and ensure our people enjoy true democratic dividends.”
