The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) worldwide, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on Nigerians to always praise God for His mercy and numerous blessings. Speaking at the church’s monthly and New Year Thanksgiving Service, held at The Throne of Grace headquarters in Ebute Metta, Lagos, Pastor Adeboye emphasized that despite the challenges faced by the country, there are ample reasons for citizens to be grateful to their Creator.

Pastor Adeboye highlighted that showing gratitude for God’s uncountable favors would pave the way for a transformative and landmark year ahead for all believers who remain committed to following His path. He further noted that the Almighty’s mercy and benevolence continue to be evident in the lives of Nigerians.

In a message delivered during the service, Dele Balogun, the Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration and pastor in charge of Region 1, also urged Nigerians to be thankful for the relative peace in the country, among other divine favors.

Pastor Adeboye reflected on the grace that has allowed believers to continue living without the aid of oxygen, emphasizing how critical this is given the past struggles, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic when breathing became a major concern for victims. He attributed the country’s survival and recovery to God’s intervention, stressing that many who survived the pandemic are still among the living today, while others with wealth are unable to enjoy it due to health issues.

The service was attended by numerous royal fathers and congregants, who carried home cooked foods and raw rice as part of the celebration. Pastor Adeboye concluded his message with a call for continued gratitude to God for the countless battles He has fought for the country and its people.
