
The Lagos State Police Command has dismissed reports of an alleged threat circulating within a school environment, reassuring residents that there is no credible intelligence indicating any planned bandit attack or abduction of schoolchildren in the state.
The Command explained that a message reportedly pasted within a school, which suggested an imminent attack by armed groups, had been brought to its attention. However, authorities stressed that the claim has not been verified by any security intelligence network.
According to the police, the situation is being taken seriously, with immediate steps already underway to assess the source and credibility of the information. Security deployments have also been reinforced around schools and other sensitive locations across Lagos State as a precautionary measure.
The Command urged parents, guardians, school administrators, and residents to remain calm and avoid spreading panic, emphasizing that Lagos remains secure and that proactive measures are continuously in place to prevent criminal infiltration.
It further warned that any individual or group found engaging in acts capable of causing fear or public disorder would be dealt with decisively in accordance with the law.
Residents were also encouraged to remain vigilant and support ongoing security efforts by reporting suspicious movements, persons, or objects to the nearest police station or through official emergency channels.
The police reiterated their commitment to safeguarding lives and property, assuring that all necessary resources are being deployed to maintain peace and security across the state.
