Vice Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has dismissed claims by former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, that the Peter Obi-Kwankwaso presidential ticket stands no chance of winning Kano State in the 2027 general election.
Ganduje had described the NDC ticket as “dead on arrival,” arguing that it lacks the political strength and leadership credentials needed to secure victory in Kano, one of Nigeria’s key voting states.
Responding during an interview on News Central TV, Kwankwaso rejected the assertion, insisting that Ganduje had no basis for making such a claim.
“Ganduje has no reason to make that statement. We supported him in 2015. In 2023, we defeated him, and if he could not do anything when he was governor, what can he do now?” Kwankwaso said.
The former Kano State governor maintained that the NDC remains confident of its chances in Kano and across the country ahead of the 2027 elections, dismissing Ganduje’s remarks as politically motivated.
