The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the commencement of the third and final phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in Ondo State ahead of future electoral activities.
According to a statement issued by the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, the exercise officially began on Monday, May 11, 2026, and is being conducted simultaneously across the country through online pre-registration and physical, in-person registration.
Agboke explained that the third phase of the exercise would operate under the IVED rotation framework for the first 40 days, while the concluding five days would be carried out across all 18 Local Government Area offices of the commission in Ondo State.
He noted that the exercise is expected to end on July 10, 2026, in line with the commission’s approved timetable.
The commission urged all eligible citizens who are yet to register as voters to make use of the opportunity before the deadline.
INEC also encouraged registered voters seeking correction or update of their voter information, as well as those wishing to transfer their registration details, to participate in the exercise.
In addition, the commission stated that individuals whose Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) are missing or defaced could apply for replacements during the exercise.
Agboke assured residents that adequate arrangements had been put in place to guarantee a smooth, inclusive, and hitch-free registration process across the state.
“INEC in Ondo State is poised to ensure robust public engagement with all the activities of the commission to enhance better participation and awareness,” the statement added.
