The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the commencement of the public display of Form EC9, containing the personal particulars of candidates contesting the 2027 presidential, senatorial and House of Representatives elections in Lagos State.

In a statement issued by the Head of Voter Education and Publicity, Mrs. Esther Emeh, the commission said the exercise will begin on Saturday, August 1, 2026, in compliance with Section 29 of the Electoral Act 2022.

According to INEC, the display will take place at its Lagos State Office in Sabo-Yaba and at the commission’s Local Government Area offices across the constituencies where the candidates are seeking election.

The commission explained that Form EC9 contains the credentials, personal information and sworn affidavits submitted by candidates nominated by their respective political parties.

INEC urged registered political parties, candidates, election stakeholders and members of the public to inspect the documents during the display period.

The electoral body also reminded the public that any person who believes a candidate submitted false information or forged documents may challenge such submissions through the legal procedures provided under the Electoral Act.

Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, INEC said the public display forms part of efforts to ensure a credible, free and fair electoral process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
