Popular Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has once again sparked reactions online after reaffirming his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, stating that his political stance is based on what he described as divine direction.
Speaking during a recent appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, the actor said he believes God consistently guides him on who to support politically and has continued to direct him toward Tinubu.
Explaining the reason behind his support for the President, Yul said:
“Because I want to support him and God — I have said it before in an interview — God has always shown me who to support, and he keeps showing me Tinubu, and I am going to stand by him.”
During the interview, the podcast hosts questioned whether God truly gets involved in electoral matters. Responding, the actor maintained that his convictions are spiritually inspired.
“I don’t know if he is involved on your side, but he is involved in mine; he showed me where to go,” he said.
Yul Edochie has remained one of the Nigerian entertainment industry’s most outspoken supporters of President Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress, despite facing repeated criticism and backlash on social media over his political views.
