Segun Ogunwuyi has resigned as Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, becoming the latest in a string of aides to step down from the administration in recent months.
In a resignation letter dated October 12, 2026, Ogunwuyi said the decision took effect immediately. A former member of both the Oyo State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives, he had served as Chief of Staff before his exit.
In the letter, Ogunwuyi described his time in government as fulfilling, saying he was proud to have been part of a team that delivered notable achievements for the state during the administration’s tenure. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and voiced confidence in Oyo State’s continued progress, closing with an assurance of his continued loyalty to both the state and the country.
His departure adds to a growing list of resignations from Makinde’s inner circle over the past two months, though neither Ogunwuyi nor the governor’s office has publicly addressed the reasons behind the recent exodus of aides.
