
Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria following a three-nation diplomatic and economic tour of France, Kenya, and Rwanda aimed at strengthening international partnerships and advancing Africa’s economic interests.
The President’s aircraft landed at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at approximately 7:12 p.m. on Saturday.
He was received on arrival by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa, alongside other senior government officials.
In a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the presidency said Tinubu held high-level engagements with global investors during his stay in France, where he reiterated his administration’s commitment to transparency, fiscal discipline, and ongoing economic reforms.
The statement noted that the President used the engagements to explain the rationale behind the swift implementation of key policy reforms introduced by his administration to stabilise and reposition Nigeria’s economy.
During the trip, Tinubu also participated in the Africa Forward Summit held in Nairobi, Kenya, an event co-hosted by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto.
At the summit, the Nigerian leader called for comprehensive reforms to the global financial system and advocated stronger economic integration across the African continent to drive sustainable growth and prosperity.
Tinubu further highlighted Nigeria’s vast blue economy potential, describing it as a critical pillar for Africa’s development. He also pledged Nigeria’s readiness to share its maritime intelligence infrastructure with willing countries within the Gulf of Guinea region as part of efforts to improve regional security and economic cooperation.
