The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has departed Abuja for Osun State ahead of the party’s final campaign rally for the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
Atiku travelled alongside the ADC National Leader, David Mark, as the party intensifies its mobilisation and campaign activities ahead of the poll.
The final rally is expected to draw key leaders and supporters of the ADC as the party seeks to boost the chances of its governorship candidate, Najeem Salam, in the election.
The Osun governorship election is scheduled for August 15, with Salam of the ADC, Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, and Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) among the major contenders.
Salam, a former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, served in the position from 2011 to 2015 and was re-elected in 2017, serving until 2019.
The ADC has intensified its campaign across the state in the final days leading up to the election, with party leaders rallying support for its candidate.
