The Accord Party has expressed confidence that it will emerge victorious in the August 15, 2026, governorship election in Osun State, urging residents to come out in large numbers to support its candidate.
The party said Governor Ademola Adeleke’s performance during his first term has earned him the trust of the electorate and should be rewarded with another mandate.
Accord also called on Nigerians to identify with the party and support its candidates in the 2027 general elections, describing the party as a platform committed to inclusive governance and people-oriented leadership.
The appeal was made on Friday during a visit by the party’s state chairmen to the National Chairman of Accord, Maxwell Mgbudem.
Addressing the delegation, Mgbudem emphasized the importance of unity among party members, saying he remains open to constructive advice aimed at strengthening Accord into a formidable political force with nationwide appeal.
He urged members to remain focused on building a viable platform capable of delivering victory for all Accord candidates in forthcoming elections, while dismissing the activities of what he described as anti-democratic elements seeking to create division within the party.
According to him, the growing popularity and acceptance of Accord have attracted opposition from forces determined to undermine its progress.
Mgbudem also encouraged aggrieved members to make use of the party’s internal dispute resolution mechanisms in line with its constitution, assuring them that all grievances would be addressed fairly and amicably.
He reaffirmed that Accord would approach future elections as a united political family, expressing confidence that Nigerians seeking competent, compassionate leadership and good governance would rally behind the party.
