Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has convened a high-level security meeting with heads of security agencies and key stakeholders to strengthen the state’s security architecture and reinforce efforts to protect lives and property.
The meeting comes amid growing concerns over recent security challenges, including bandit attacks and kidnappings affecting several communities across the state.
Held on Tuesday at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, the meeting brought together representatives of the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), vigilante groups, officials of the Ministry of Internal Security, chairmen of the state’s 21 local government areas, and members of the State Executive Council.
Discussions centered on reviewing the current security situation across Kebbi State, assessing ongoing operations, and enhancing collaboration among security agencies through intelligence sharing and coordinated strategies to address emerging threats.
Governor Idris reiterated his administration’s commitment to sustaining peace and safeguarding residents, stressing the importance of stronger synergy between security agencies and community stakeholders in tackling insecurity.
He also urged security operatives to adopt proactive measures to prevent criminal activities and ensure that residents across the state’s 21 local government areas can continue their daily activities without fear.
The meeting is part of the Kebbi State Government’s ongoing efforts to improve operational coordination, strengthen security measures, and maintain peace and stability across the state.
