Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has questioned President Bola Tinubu’s decision to appoint his brother as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), suggesting the move came shortly after Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi visited the former governor.
Speaking in a video shared on his Facebook page, Isaac Fayose wondered why the appointment was made at this time, alleging that it followed Obi’s recent visit.
“Just days after Mr. Peter Obi visited me, they appointed my brother as a DG. Why didn’t they give him the appointment all these while?” he said.
He also compared the appointment to that of former presidential aide Reno Omokri, stating, “They didn’t even make him a minister or ambassador. Even Reno Omokri, who was never a governor, was appointed an ambassador.”
Isaac Fayose further recalled that his brother had previously said he would not seek or accept positions such as senator, minister, or director-general after leaving office as governor.
“I know he may not accept the appointment, but if he does, who am I to question him,” he added.
