The pupils and teachers who were abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State have regained their freedom following a successful rescue operation by Nigerian security agencies.
The development was announced on Friday by the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a post on X.
According to Onanuga, all the kidnapped pupils and teachers were rescued safely through the efforts of the country’s security agencies.
“Finally, all the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Oriire, Oyo have been rescued by our security agencies,” he wrote.
He also revealed that one of the rescued teachers expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and the security agencies for securing their release.
Further details surrounding the rescue operation have yet to be disclosed.
