ABUJA — President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on the promises made to Nigerians, declaring that he will never betray the trust reposed in him despite the economic hardships caused by ongoing reforms.
The President made the declaration on Thursday through Senate President Godswill Akpabio during the inauguration of the executives of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a grassroots campaign established to promote the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda across the country.
Addressing supporters, political leaders, traditional rulers, civil society groups and other stakeholders, Tinubu said his administration remains focused on building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria, insisting that the difficult decisions taken since assuming office are necessary to secure the country’s long-term future.
“I assure Nigerians of my unwavering dedication to our mandate. This administration will remain committed to fulfilling its vision of building a better nation for present and future generations. I will never betray the trust Nigerians have placed in me,” the President said.
Tinubu acknowledged that his economic reforms have required significant sacrifices from citizens but maintained that they are laying the foundation for sustainable economic growth and national prosperity.
He stressed that no nation achieves lasting progress without making difficult choices, urging Nigerians to remain resilient and patriotic as the government continues implementing reforms.
According to him, the success of democracy depends on active citizen participation and sustained engagement at the grassroots level.
The President charged members of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement to take government policies directly to communities, explaining the benefits of the administration’s programmes while promoting democratic values through peaceful and respectful engagement.
He also emphasized that national development requires collaboration between the executive, legislature and citizens, warning against allowing political differences to overshadow Nigeria’s collective interest.
Tinubu urged Nigerians to promote hope, unity and patriotism, saying every interaction should strengthen confidence in the country’s future.
The President commended High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, and members of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement for spearheading the nationwide mobilisation campaign in support of his administration.
He expressed confidence that reforms implemented over the past three years are already positioning Nigeria for sustained economic growth and that citizens will begin to experience greater benefits as government policies continue to take effect.
Earlier, the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Kestin Pondi, described the inauguration as the beginning of a nationwide mobilisation campaign aimed at supporting President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
Pondi thanked political leaders, traditional rulers, diplomats, youth and women groups, civil society organisations, media practitioners and other stakeholders for their support, describing Tinubu as a courageous leader committed to transforming Nigeria.
He urged supporters of the administration to remain peaceful, disciplined and committed to promoting national unity through constructive grassroots engagement.
