The Commissioner of Police in Kano State, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has charged 956 newly promoted officers of the Kano State Police Command to view their elevation as a call to greater responsibility, professionalism, and discipline in the service of the nation.

The charge was delivered during the decoration ceremony of officers who recently benefited from the promotion exercise approved by the Police Service Commission (PSC).

In a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, on behalf of the Command, CP Bakori congratulated the officers on their well-deserved promotions and conveyed the goodwill message of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

According to the Commissioner, the Inspector-General remains committed to enhancing the welfare, motivation, and career progression of police personnel across the country.

Speaking at the event, CP Bakori emphasized that promotion should not be seen merely as a reward for past service but as an opportunity to take on higher responsibilities and demonstrate greater commitment to duty.

“Promotion comes with greater responsibility,” he stated, urging the officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and discipline in the discharge of their duties.

He further encouraged the newly promoted personnel to rededicate themselves to selfless service, stressing the need to strengthen public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force through exemplary conduct and effective service delivery.

The Commissioner assured that the Command would continue to monitor the performance of officers and ensure that those elevated justify the confidence reposed in them through excellence, accountability, and dedication to duty.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the careers of the promoted officers and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to rewarding hard work and fostering professionalism within the Force.
