
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday joined Muslim faithful at Dodan Barracks in Lagos State to observe the Eid prayers, alongside top political figures and government officials.
Among those who accompanied the President were his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; and Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, among other Muslim faithful.
The President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, disclosed details of the prayer gathering in a post shared on his X handle on Wednesday.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside former Governor of Lagos State Babatunde Raji Fashola, the Lagos APC governorship candidate, and other Muslim faithful, observed the Eid Mubarak prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos State,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar also joined Muslim worshippers at the AYA Mosque in Abuja for the Eid prayers.
In a message shared on his social media pages, Atiku said the prayers were offered in gratitude to Allah for His blessings while calling on Nigerians to embrace peace, sacrifice, and national unity.
“I joined fellow Muslims this morning at the AYA Mosque in Abuja to observe the Eid prayers in gratitude to Allah for His countless blessings,” he stated.
The former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party urged citizens to uphold the values of compassion and togetherness during the festive period.
“As we celebrate this sacred occasion, may the spirit of Eid strengthen our bonds of unity, compassion, sacrifice, and peace as one people and one nation,” he added.
He further extended Eid greetings to Muslims across Nigeria and beyond, praying for lasting peace and prosperity in the country.
“Eid Mubarak to all Muslim faithful across Nigeria and around the world. May Allah accept our prayers and grant lasting peace and prosperity to our nation,” Atiku said.
