The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has admitted that conducting a completely flawless election remains a challenge.
Speaking at the Citizens’ Town Hall meeting on the Electoral Act in Abuja on Sunday, INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, emphasized that while transmission issues are not a major concern, the adequacy of Nigeria’s existing network infrastructure poses a significant hurdle.
“Let me appeal to Nigerians. I have observed that citizens desire a perfect election. INEC will strive to deliver the best possible election; however, achieving a 100 per cent perfect election may not be feasible at this time,” Prof. Amupitan stated.
He reassured the public that the commission remains committed to improving electoral processes and addressing infrastructural limitations to ensure credible voting outcomes.
