Venezuela Left Isolated, Exposed to U.S. Power, Says Former Nigerian Presidential Aide

Former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad has said the recent arrest of Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro and his wife by U.S. forces underscores the realities of global power dynamics.

In a post on his official X handle on Saturday, Ahmad argued that Venezuela’s allies ultimately abandoned its leadership, leaving it isolated and vulnerable to adversaries.

“This is how the world actually works,” he wrote, emphasizing that alliances are often performative, while raw power remains unchallenged.

Ahmad added that the incident highlights why even the leaders of other nations continue to fear, defer to, or quietly submit to the United States. “They have simply no real match—not China, not Iran, not Russia, and not even all of them combined—when it comes to decisive power projection,” he stated.

He further noted that even when nations vocally oppose the U.S., they rarely attempt—and almost never succeed—in stopping a mission that the United States has resolved to undertake.

The development follows reports from DAILY POST that former U.S. President Donald Trump announced the capture of Maduro and his wife on Saturday, a move that has drawn widespread international attention.
