774 NNPP Members Dump Party for APC in Kano

No fewer than 774 members of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rimin Gado Local Government Area of Kano State.

The defectors were formally received on Friday by the Managing Director of the Hadejia-Jam’are River Basin Development Authority, Rabiu Bichi, who commended them for what he described as a timely and courageous decision.

Bichi maintained that the APC remains the only party with a clear blueprint for Nigeria’s progress, adding that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s numerous projects across the northern region are a testament to the administration’s commitment to development.

According to him, over 18 major projects running into billions of naira have already been completed in Kano State alone. He also expressed concern that some state governments had diverted substantial funds released for developmental purposes to unrelated areas.

“The Renewed Hope Agenda is already yielding positive results, including economic recovery and improved food security through various agricultural programmes,” he said, assuring the defectors that they would be fully integrated and treated as long-standing APC members.

Speaking on behalf of the group, leader of the defectors, Mohammad Karofin-Yashi, said their decision to dump the NNPP was driven by the impressive developmental initiatives of the APC-led government. He expressed confidence that the party would move both Kano and the nation forward.

Karofin-Yashi further pledged to mobilise more NNPP members who, according to him, are already considering joining the APC.
