Ibadan, Oyo State — Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) advocating for former President Goodluck Jonathan’s return to politics were on Saturday spotted at the party’s ongoing elective convention in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The supporters were seen waving flags featuring Jonathan’s image, while also projecting Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed as his preferred running mate. The move has reignited speculation about Jonathan’s potential candidacy in the highly anticipated 2027 presidential election.
Although Jonathan has remained silent on the matter, close associates reportedly confirmed his willingness to contest.
Meanwhile, posters of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde were also visible at the convention venue on Friday, highlighting the active political display at the event.
