A Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed November 20, 2025 for judgment in the terrorism charges brought against the Biafra nation agitator, Nnamdi Kanu by the federal government.
The judge fixed the date on Friday following the refusal of Kanu to open his defense as he had on several occasions indicated.
Kanu who had earlier filed a motion on Friday challenged his trial on the ground that terrorism was no longer an offense in Nigeria as at today.
He claimed that the earlier Terrorism Prevention and Prohibition Act had been repealed and as such no valid charges against him.
The detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has been in detention at the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since 2021 when he was unlawfully renditioned from Kenya and arraigned for terrorism by the federal government.
