ABUJA — President Bola Tinubu has offered automatic employment to the four children of Dr. Grace Adayilo, the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), who passed away recently.
The announcement was made by FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, during Adayilo’s funeral service on Saturday at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja. The solemn ceremony drew senior government officials, civil servants, friends, and family who gathered to celebrate her life and legacy.
Describing her death as a “painful loss,” Wike praised Adayilo’s devotion, humility, and service to the FCT Administration.
“On behalf of the FCT Administration and Mr. President, I extend our deepest condolences to her family. The President has instructed that her four children be offered automatic employment, understanding that the family has lost its breadwinner,” Wike announced.
He further commended Adayilo for her outstanding contributions, particularly in ensuring prompt payment of workers’ salaries and benefits, and for her influence as a respected community mobilizer.
Colleagues and loved ones described her as a selfless leader and motherly figure whose career embodied integrity, compassion, and dedication to the welfare of others.
Wike urged Nigerians to emulate her commitment to God and humanity, stressing the need to live purposefully in light of life’s uncertainties.
