ABUJA — The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has once again increased the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) across its retail outlets nationwide, marking the second upward adjustment in just four days.
Checks by DAILY POST on Friday revealed that NNPCL filling stations in Abuja — including outlets in Kubwa, Lugbe Expressway, Wuse Zone 4, and Wuse Zone 5 — are now dispensing petrol at ₦945 per litre. Similar prices were recorded at NNPCL stations in parts of Nasarawa and Kogi states.
Confirming the development, the National Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Abubakar Maigandi, said the adjustment took effect on Friday morning.
“The latest increase in NNPCL petrol pump price was implemented this morning. I cannot tell the reason,” Maigandi stated.
The hike comes barely two days after NNPCL reduced its pump price to ₦900 per litre from ₦955, a figure it had introduced on Monday, August 4.
The pricing fluctuations follow Dangote Refinery’s decision to raise its ex-depot price from ₦820 to ₦850 per litre.
Meanwhile, MRS and Bovas filling stations in Abuja are selling petrol at ₦885 and ₦895 per litre, respectively, while other outlets such as Optima, Ranoil, AA Rano, and NIPCO are dispensing the product between ₦950 and ₦955 per litre as of Friday evening.
