Cristiano Ronaldo Pays Emotional Tribute to Late Portugal Legend Jorge Costa

Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, has paid a heartfelt tribute to former FC Porto and national team defender, Jorge Costa, who tragically passed away at the age of 53.

According to DAILY POST, Costa died on Tuesday following a cardiac arrest at FC Porto’s training centre, sending shockwaves through the Portuguese football community.

Ronaldo, who shared the national team dressing room with Costa during the early years of his international career, took to his Instagram story to honour the late football icon.

Sharing a solemn photo of Costa, the Al Nassr forward added a dove emoji and the caption: “Até sempre, Jorge Costa” — a Portuguese phrase that translates to “Until forever” or “Always love.”

Jorge Costa was a towering figure in Portuguese football. Nicknamed “The Tank” for his commanding presence in defence, he captained FC Porto to UEFA Champions League glory in 2004 under José Mourinho. He earned 50 caps for Portugal and was widely respected for his leadership on and off the pitch.

His sudden death has sparked an outpouring of grief from fans, former teammates, and football figures around the world.
