…. Sues him to Court
Over 20 legal practitioners under the aegis of Forum of Forensic Investigation Lawyers working with Kingdom Human Right group have called for the sack of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), Dapo Segun over refinery rehabilitation and OVH acquisition deal which have gone sour.
The lawyers led by Barr. Ahmed Yusuf and Okere Kingdom also want forensic audit and probe of his tenure by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over his role in the failed refinery, OVH deals, urging President Bola Tinubu to sack him.
The lawyers have approached the Federal High Court, Abuja with a suit seeking for an order to suspend the NNPCL CFO, via a suit marked, FHC/ABJ/1580/2025, which also seeks an order for forensic investigation of the OVH refinery deals and the tenure of Dapo.
It is also seeking for an order to stop Dapo’s continuous stay as CFO to avoid compromise of documents pending the conclusion of investigation.
The lawyers in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday said, “We are seeking for an order of Court to suspend the NNPCL CFO. The suit is seeking an order for forensic investigation of the OVH refinery deals and the tenure of Dapo. It is also seeking for an order to stop his continuous stay as CFO to avoid compromise of documents pending the conclusion of investigation.
“The man who was EVP Downstream then, chief financial officer now. The man who caused crisis between everyone in the board. This is the man who was a head of treasury in NNPCL during the refinery rehabilitation. Later became EVP Downstream that was still in charge of the refinery rehabilitation, going to the refinery everyday, presided over that process including the award of the jobs.
“This same man again became chief financial officer making payment. Now the refinery project has failed. Also the EVP during the NNPCL acquisition of OVH. This same man is still in office as chief financial officer instead of being sacked.
“We call on President Bola Tinubu to do the needful by sacking him and bringing on board someone more competent”, the lawyers said in the statement.
