Investigative Journalist, David Hundeyin, Arrested, Detained In Zimbabwe

David Hundeyin, an investigative journalist, has taken to Twitter to plead for aid after being jailed in Zimbabwe.

Hundeyin said in a series of tweets that he had been imprisoned for seven hours in a “smelly, locked up room.” He said that he entered the Southern African country on the basis that it has a visa-free agreement with Nigeria, but that upon arrival, he was requested to show his visa. He claimed to have been imprisoned alongside another Ugandan woman.

He has requested that the authorities allow him to return to Nigeria and has stated that he will never return.
